PAYMENT FOR OUR PUPPIES

We accept PayPal as the preferred method of payment, or cash.

Deposits are required to hold any puppy.

We require a deposit of half the total payment, but can be fairly flexible on that as long as we know what is going on ahead of time. Payment in full must be complete BEFORE the puppy leaves. I prefer to set it up and send it from my end. If I make a mistake typing something in, it's an easy fix and i just redo it...if an owner does it directly from their end and happen to type the email address incorrectly, that can take up to several days for PayPal to refund the money...this way I put all the details on the invoice, that the payment is for a particular puppy that is named here, the amount of the deposit, the amount you will be paying in total, etc).....I always email the owner as soon as I have set it up, as well as afterwards as soon as I receive your payment. I will also have a written receipt with the puppy’s records too.

BASIC INFO

Your dog/puppy has had the best care we can provide, with regular vaccinations and de-wormings. He/she will have had 2 individual doses of Neopar (Parvo vaccine), 1 dose of Neovac D (Distempter vaccine), at least one combination vaccine as a 4 or 5 way containing parvo and distemper, along with the first booster of a nasal vaccine for kennel cough. For best protection, especially if your dog/puppy will be around other strange dogs, like at a boarding kennel or in a dog park, it is recommended to have your baby get one more booster of this as well. Details are also lined out in your dog/puppy's health/shot record with the next scheduled dates for vaccinations.. We are not like some individuals and just make copies of everything. The actual labels from each vaccine administered is included with all records, and not photocopied. Please take all documents we send with the dog/puppy with you to your vet, so he/she can know exactly what has been given and administered. We do the utmost we can to treat preventatively, but nothing is ever a guarantee and even with vaccinations, your puppy will still be at risk for these viruses if he/she were directly exposed before he/she has fully finished ALL the required puppy boosters.

Although your baby (if puppy) tested negative on his/her fecal at the vet exam, it is always possible there are eggs still present, even with regular de-wormings and preventative treatments. There is nothing that will kill the worm eggs, only the adults and larvae. The whole idea of repeated de-wormings, on a regular schedule, is to kill the larvae before they have a chance to become adults and reproduce. This is a usually a 30-day life cycle, which is the reason for repeated de-wormings. Even so, it is always possible some may have been missed if we didn't catch the life cycle just right, so just want you to be aware. The vet isn't perfect either, and eggs can still be missed or hard to detect, but we trust his judgement. Being that we usually don't have a flea problem, we DO NOT typically worm for tapeworms, which require a special medication from the vet. If any tests positive, they ARE treated at that time, but tapeworm eggs can be extremely difficult to detect. Any puppies have also been on a preventative program for coccidia and giardia, as a safeguard; if shipping, they are also given an additional round of dosage for 5 days before shipping. With us always having rescue dogs coming in, we never know what they may be bringing in with them. We would rather treat preventatively, than wait for a problem to surface later on. However, it is still always possible something can/would be still present or brought out due to stressful situations, especially with flying, so please keep this in mind. We do our best, but we aren't perfect and neither is our vet. If we feel a puppy is not capable of withstanding transporting or a new environment, then they stay here to live out their lives. Almost all we can eventually match with the right home, but it takes patience and understanding on both sides and potential buyers need to understand this.

PLEASE keep your dog/puppy on a heartworm preventative!!!!   Your dog/puppy's first month's dose of Heartgard Plus has already been given. We use the chewable as it is easy to introduce to puppies and they think it's more of a treat. Prevention is way cheaper than having to put a dog through heartworm treatment, not to mention the risk to your pet's health. An added advantage of the Heartgard plus version of a heartworm preventative is that it is also a de-wormer for hookworms and roundworms, so your dog will always be on some worm prevention, except for tapeworms (tapeworms are carried by fleas) and whipworms . Your puppy has also had his/her first dose of Advantage II applied for flea prevention.  Puppies are started here at 8 weeks of age. Again, prevention is way cheaper and better for your pet than treatment.

Your dog/puppy has been eating PRO PLAN PREMIUM PUPPY  (LAMB AND RICE) dog food. It is a meat-based, 28% protein, 18% fat content and has worked very well for our dogs. A small bag is included with your baby to help him/her transition over to what you will be feeding. If you decide you'd like to continue with this food, info is also included to see if it is available in your area. Pro Plan is readily available in most pet stores like Petco and Petsmart,  and some feed stores and even some veterinarians. If transitioning to a different food, please make sure to mix the new food with the food we've included, and not to switch cold turkey, or there may be tummy upset..  Please, don't EVER feed Ol'  Roy or a cheap grocery store brand of dog food. Dry food is always best as canned food is mostly water and can contribute to tartar and plaque build-up. Your pet will get no real nutrition. Canned food can be used as something to mix into the food if your pup is not eating heartily, but it is not a good substitute for dry food.  All pets require a good quality food to maintain peak condition and health. If you are purchasing a Whippet from us, they especially need a quality protein/fat nutritious dog food to keep up with their higher metabolism..they can't afford to lose any weight and have very little body fat as reserve.

Another important aspect to consider with your Whippet is veterinary care. Whippets are sighthounds and are VERY SENSITIVE TO ANESTHESIA!!!!! Their requirements are quite different from other breeds of dogs. Our veterinarian uses gas inhalant only  on our sightounds. He uses Isofluorane, so you will want to be well-informed when you check with your veterinarian. You will need to make sure to research with the vets in your area to be confident  he/she is very familiar with the special needs of sighthounds. WE CAN'T STRESS THIS ENOUGH!!!! Any vet that tells you there isn't a difference and that a sighthound is like any other dog has then obviously never had a sighthound! THEY ARE DIFFERENT!!!

If you or your vet ever have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us at 479-597-3083 (voip phone, so receives voicemails but NOT text) or email at: kimberlyajudd@gmail.com

Congratulations and enjoy your new family member!! And please, keep us updated and send pictures as often as you like!

Thank you!!

PICKUP OR DELIVERY PROCESS FOR OUR PUPPIES

Within the week before pickup, our pups are given their final health checkup and paperwork. At the time of pickup, I will provide a health certificate for your pup, along with a basic schedule outline and tip care sheets for crate training, housebreaking, exercise, etc.

Ideally, owners can arrive here to pick up their puppy. Alternatively, we can drive to meet owners too, but only up to 4, possibly 5 hours, one way...and we do charge a small meet/delivery fee if we do that ($40/hour up to 4 hours one way).

Since we do NOT ship, what we've been having owners do is either be able to come all the way here, or we drive to meet somewhere on the road or at the airport nearest to us that they fly into and we bring their puppy to them and they fly back with them in cabin as carry on. (Airports nearest to us would be XNA/Fayetteville, AR or TUL/Tulsa Oklahoma International, both of which are a couple hours' drive from here).

Transport Service for Our Puppies

In some special situations, we may be able to deliver a puppy through a transport service. The payment for the transport service is between you and the provider. For example, there is a transport service that we have used called Citizens Shippers. If you go to its web site, you can specify your destination, and you will receive offers through email by transporters who would be willing to transport your dog. The pet transport business has become very active, with many transporters that travel across the country. Many of these transporters specialize in transporting dogs and cats. Some of them transport only 1 dog or cat at a time. They commonly have a GPS system so that you can monitor their progress when transporting your dog or cat to you, and they also typically promise to be in contact with you periodically while in route. Each transporter is reviewed by Citizens Shippers, and is also reviewed by adopters of dogs or cats who have used the service. Many of the transporters have excellent reviews for their care of dogs and cats. All reviews are accessible. Citizens Shippers charges a fee to the adopter who is requesting transport. The fee is a percentage of the agreed upon payment to the transporter.

We  DO now have a couple excellent transporters that we have used for our puppy transports, so we can save you the time and hassle of having to find someone  via Citizen Shippers (unless you already have someone you have used or would prefer, which is perfectly fine too), and we will be happy to provide you with their contact info when the time comes.
